On new years eve Josh asked me why women like to be around men... why they are attracted to them and I have put some extra thought into it so here it is. Bravo to Josh, by the way, who always asks good questions.

What I said then I say now, to truly feel like a woman one must be in the presence of a true man. Masculinity breeds femininity... and vice versa.

The real issue I have been chewing over these past two days is the fact that most women answer, "I like to be around a man because I feel safe and protected". True! I won't argue that that is a true statement... if you would've asked me the same question 2 weeks ago that probably would have been my answer. But honestly gals, do we walk around all day every day feeling unsafe and unprotected? If that were the really the case, we would have a lot of scared girls walking around and that is simply not what I see. No, that is not the number one reason women like to have men around. I believe, and I could be wrong, that women like to be around men because of the simple fact that they are men. Men who are designed to think, love, and live differently than we are. and yes, a part of that design includes the desire to provide safety and protection for others.

What I crave as a woman is a man's man.. whether it be a friend, brother, husband, or father, to just be by my side and not try to be anything other than what God created him to be.
